Clinical trials are a part of research that has to be conducted to assess any drug or medical treatment with human participants. With its result, we are able to decide if the new drug or treatment is better than the existing alternatives. Clinical trials are essential for making sure the intervention is safe before the public uses it.

Informative. I know that there are many phases of trial. The drug has to go through several stages to get into the market. I have read that out of 5k to 10k compounds only one gets approved.
And for a complex drug like for cancer can take around 8 to 9 year to undergo all phases of trial.
