Case File 3: Pregnant Woman with Blurring of Vision

A 28-year-old pregnant female, G2P1L1 at 35 weeks of gestation, came to the emergency with complaints of severe epigastric pain, nausea, and vomiting since morning. She also reported headache and blurred vision. Her antenatal care was irregular

On examination, her blood pressure was 160/110 mmHg, she had mild pedal edema, and brisk reflexes were noted. There was no vaginal bleeding or leaking. Fundal height corresponded to 35 weeks

Investigations revealed hemoglobin of 9.5 g/dL, platelet count of 70,000/mm³, elevated liver enzymes (AST 120 IU/L), and raised LDH (720 IU/L)
Peripheral smear showed schistocytes suggestive of hemolysis and Urine showed +3 proteinuria
