Smita a 28 year old independent woman worked at a multinational company. She spent long hours on her desk meeting clients worldwide. Soon she discovered that ler lower back hurts alot, and she has discomfort in the neck area. She asked one of her colleagues about this. She handed her a tablet and water and asked to chug it. Soon after few minutes she felt relief, all her pain and discomfort was relieved and she could work efficiently.
Now this became a routine for her and she continued to take that tablet whenever she felt pain. But after a few months she starting feeling sharp pain in her epigastric region followed by nausea and vomiting. She thought it was acidity she took some antacids. It kind of gave a temporary relief but it did not solve the problem. Smita’s friend asked her to go see a doctor.
Upon examination the doctor felt a abdominal rigidity. The doctor suggested for a CBC and endoscopy for the same. After the results Smita was treated and felt better. She educated her friend to stop taking that tablet frequently.
