Patient G., 20 years old, on preventive examination a reddened
area on the cervix uteri is detected. There isn’t a
complaint.
Menstruation at 14 years of age, for 4 days every 28 days,
moderate, painless. Last period was 2 weeks ago.
There was one physiological delivery. She takes
hormonal contraceptives.
External genitals are developed correctly. Speculum and
bimanual examination: parous vagina, uterine cervix is
cylindricity, a reddened area is determined around the
external os. It bleeds easily during examination. Uterus
is in normal size, mobile, painless. Adnexa are not
detectable from both sides. Discharge is white.
Ddx:-
- Cervical ectropion
- Cervicitis
- Cervical dysplasia
- Trauma

Likely cervical erosion (ectropion) causing reddened, bleeding area.
Common in hormonal contraceptive users.
Recommend Pap smear, HPV testing, and colposcopy to rule out malignancy or infection.
Monitor or treat if symptomatic.
