Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
CPR is a lifesaving technique used to restore blood circulation and breathing in a person who has stopped breathing or whose heart has stopped functioning.
When to Perform CPR:
- Cardiac arrest
- Drowning
- Choking
- Severe injury or trauma
- Heart attack
CPR Steps:
- Call for Help: Call your local emergency number.
- Check the Scene: Ensure the area is safe for both you and the person in need.
- Check the Person: Check for breathing and pulse.
- Start Compressions: Begin chest compressions (30:2 ratio for adults).
- Give Breaths: Provide rescue breaths after every 30 compressions.
Importance of CPR:
- Improves chances of survival
- Restores blood circulation and oxygenation
- Can save lives in emergency situations.
