💧 Can Emotions Change Water? Masaru Emoto’s Surprising Discovery

Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher, believed that wrds and emotions can affect water. In his experiments, he spoke positive or negative words to water before freezing it.

Results

- Kind words made the water form beautiful ice crystals.

- Hurtful words created ugly, broken shapes.

- Music and pictures also had similar effects!

- He also did an experiment with rice in water. The rice with loving words started fermenting (a healthy change), while the one with hateful words began to rot.

Some scientists criticize his work, saying it lacks proof. But others believe it shows how powerful thoughts and emotions can be.

A theory called TGD even suggests our emotions send out special energy that water can feel — kind of like music that water can hear.

1. Do you think your mood or emotions affect the people around you — like how water was affected in the experiment?

2. How often do you speak kindly to yourself? Could your inner words be shaping your health or mood?

I found this really interesting. I do believe our emotions can affect others, just like how positive vibes can change a room. Honestly, I don’t always speak kindly to myself, but after reading this, I feel I should. Maybe our thoughts really do have power not just for us, but for people around us too.

Yes, our emotions can change water.

Amazing topic, it’s true that our emotions can affect our energy. We should always try to keep a positive mindset so it doesn’t affect us mentally, physically, and socially.

This is really thought-provoking @Devesh_chandola

  1. Yes, I do believe our mood and emotions affect people around us. Just like in the water experiment, kindness and negativity can be felt — even without words. Energy is powerful.

  2. Honestly, I don’t always speak kindly to myself but this reminds me how important it is. If our inner words can shape our mood, maybe even our health, then being gentle with ourselves matters more than we think.

Yes, I truly believe that our mood and emotions affect not just people around us, but also our own body and mind — just like in Emoto’s experiment. I will definitely speak to myself — and I never feel shy about it. So many people ask me, “Why are you always talking to yourself? I just smile and stay calm. Because for me, it brings so much relief. When I explain everything to myself — whether it’s a problem or a happy moment — it feels like I’m being heard without any judgment. Every single day, I talk with myself. I share my happiness, my pain, my confusion… and I feel free. It’s like giving my own heart a hug.

Sometimes, you are your safest space.

  1. Yes it can affect others mood too but if the opposite is emotionally available and attached to us

  2. May be every single day i would try to speak kindly to myself and yeah our inner words could definitely be shaping our mood or health

Never knew there is something like this too

Nice topic. ! I remember reading somewhere that 60–70% of our body is made up of water, so we should be careful not to speak negatively to ourselves. Words carry energy, and they do impact us.

Never heard about it.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I do think our mood and emotions affect people around us. Just like body language or tone of voice can change the atmosphere in a room, emotions can be felt even without words. If we are calm and positive, others often feel more comfortable, if we’re tense or angry, it can create unease.

2. Honestly, I don’t always speak kindly to myself but I have noticed that when I do, my mood, energy, and even how I handle challenges improve. It’s like giving my mind a gentle push instead of a harsh shove. I think our inner words can shape not only our mood but also how our body responds to stress and healing.
