Beyond COVID Vaccines: Is mRNA the Future of Pharma Careers?

mRNA technology exploded into the spotlight thanks to COVID-19 vaccines. But big pharma companies are now using it for:
•Cancer immunotherapy
•Rare genetic disorders
•Personalized medicine

This trend could create new jobs for pharma graduates in:
-Formulation R&D for lipid nanoparticles
-Regulatory documentation for novel therapies
-Clinical research on gene-based drugs
-Quality control for complex biologics

I think pharma companies think they growing at good rate that’s why they don’t want to take new things maybe

With innovations in medical field mRNA vaccines have come into use, I am interested to learn about it more as it may help me in my project. If anyone know about the COVID-19 mRNA let me know.

mRNA has completely changed how we look at medicine, especially after its huge success in COVID-19 vaccines. But that’s just the beginning. In the future, I believe mRNA will play a major role in treating many diseases not just infections, but also cancers, rare genetic disorders, and possibly even heart diseases.

Scientists can design mRNA to make the body produce a specific protein like a missing enzyme or a cancer-fighting agent and it can be updated or personalised quickly. This opens doors to faster drug development and even personalised medicine.

During my academics, I had learned about mRNA technology, but not in-depth. mRNA technology is a growing and innovative area in Pharma sector. If I get the chance, so yes i would like to be the part of that field.

mRNA technology was included in our college syllabus but was not so deep where we knew how this technology helps in rare genetic disorders and cancer immunotherapy .

My college syllabus didn’t particularly touch the field of mRNA technology, but yes certain talks and discussions on the same were encouraged. And personally, the way genetic field is taking speed, it’s both fascinating and bit scary. We have ongoing studies on cancer therapy and ‘tailored’ medicines which can change the face of pharma industry. However I would like to gain more insights on this field

This discovery and development of mRNA vaccine technology represent a groundbreaking advancement in modern medicine, offering rapid, adaptable, and highly effective tools to combat infectious diseases. But Pharma background people have less knowledge in this field than people of Biotechnology.

It’s an informative article. I have read mRNA technology in my syllabus. But that’s not my area of interest to work with.

Only during elective seminars or certification courses, not in our core subjects.

It is a growing area, and I love to be involved in either R&D or regulatory affairs for mRNA-based therapies. It is a hightech and without proper guidance its tough too break into it.

Thankyou so much

yes, My College syllabus includes the biotechnology subject where i have learned about this mRNA technology and uses and its process. i would love to work in this field. It may result in great employment opportunities and also improving health care. This

We have’nt learnt it yet, but it is a part of our syllabus now I believe. I think there’s great value to research progress made in this field, especially in recent years. This could be a research field one could expect good work from!
