Bengaluru’s Namma Metro Becomes a Lifeline!
India observes a medical milestone as a donated liver is transported through metro for the purpose of saving a life.
On August 1, 2025, Bengaluru entered history books. For the city for the very first time and just the second time in India a donated liver was transported through the metro rail network!
Why is it so? Because in organ transplantation, each minute is crucial. The city’s notorious traffic might have caused the liver to be hours late. But because of a green corridor and Namma Metro’s Purple Line, the organ arrived at the transplant hospital within less than 70 minutes, covering more than 31 km and 32 stations.
Accompanied by a committed medical team and metro personnel, the organ arrived safely at Sparsh Hospital, where the transplant operation began straight away and was completed successfully.
This is not a medical tale only. It’s a tale of coordination, innovation, and hope a wonderful model of how public infrastructure can be leveraged to enhance healthcare and save lives.
This is very great and helpful in huge traffic of Bangalore. It will increase the chances of patients to be on time to the hospital and can save many lives.
it’s a lifeline that reflects true human values. It connects people from all walks of life, reducing travel stress and saving time. By promoting cleaner air and easier access to jobs, schools, and hospitals, it supports equality, care, and progress. It respects the value of time and dignity of every commuter. For many, it’s a safe, affordable way to reach dreams daily. In a fast-growing city, the Metro stands as a symbol of unity, hope, and shared human purpose.
From this inspiring story, we can conclude that miracles do happen. Such a committed team towards their profession, and understand how each second is crucial for saving someone’s life..
Absolutely agreed! We should take this as an example and try to maintain the standards of public transport. It feels great to know that the team was so dedicated and public infrastructure was of help.
