Are there enough remote working opportunities for Life science/Medical/Pharma graduates

At some situation we may not be able to work on site (office) and need a remote position. As compared to IT or other fields we don’t have much of remote opportunities. And being a fresher or someone who wants to restart their career after a break finds it even more difficult to get a remote opportunity.

What’s are some of the inputs you can give here,

What’s your say to those strugglers? Let’s discuss!

I’d say it’s definitely tougher in our field, but not impossible. Building skills, networking, and being open to hybrid or freelance roles can open doors. Starting small and proving your ability remotely can lead to bigger opportunities.

That’s a very valid point. In pharma/clinical fields, remote roles are limited compared to IT. But still, opportunities do exist in areas like pharmacovigilance, medical writing, regulatory affairs, data management, and clinical research documentation. For freshers or those restarting, my suggestion would be:

:small_blue_diamond:Build strong basics and update skills (like GCP, MedDRA, regulatory guidelines).
:small_blue_diamond:Take short certifications to show readiness for remote roles.
:small_blue_diamond:Start with freelance/contract work or internships to gain experience.

It may take extra effort, but remote roles are possible if we keep improving skills and looking in the right places.

This post reflects a real struggle many of us face. Remote roles in pharma or healthcare are still limited, especially for freshers or career restarters. But there’s hope fields like medical writing, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, and clinical data review are slowly opening up to remote formats. Upskilling through online certifications and building a strong LinkedIn presence can help.

There are enough Remote oppertunities for experienced persons rather than freshers I feel .

Yes, remote opportunities are growing, especially in medical writing, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, clinical data management, and research support roles but after a break you may find it hard to get into job roles again but it would not be impossible to get the job.

It’s true, remote roles in healthcare are limited as compared to IT, but options like medical writing, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, and clinical data management are growing.

Yes I agree with you. Remote job opportunities are very limited in healthcare sector when compared to IT. Even certain internships require experience which is very difficult for fresher or for someone starting their career. It is surely a challenge that needs to be addressed.
