Generally, adrenaline in local anesthesia is safe for a majority of dental patients as it prolongs the anesthetic action and also controls bleeding. One must exercise caution while administering to patients with uncontrolled hypertension, recent MI, or arrhythmias. Proper dose control and critical assessment of patient history are the keys. When used rightly, it serves as an excellent adjunct.
Do you use adrenaline in LA routinely? Ever experienced some complications?

Yes, adrenaline is routinely used in local anesthesia to prolong its effect and reduce bleeding. However, it can cause complications like increased heart rate, anxiety, or hypertension, especially in sensitive patients.
Yes adrenaline is always routinely used with LA for extraction. Just make sure to check the blood pressure for every patient before extraction regardless of what the patient says. they might be unaware of their hypertension at times.
Adrenaline acts as vasoconstriction usually reduces the blood flow and minimise the bleeding
Yes adrenaline is routinely used. I always ask for medical history before any dental procedure.
