10,000 Steps vs Japanese Walking: Which one is better?

We are all aware that exercise is extremely beneficial for our body. It keeps us healthy, fit, helps clear our mind, and elevates our mood. Walking is the easiest form of exercise that requires no equipment and can easily be performed by anybody anywhere.

So, how much should you walk to stay healthy and fit?

The 10,000 Steps Rule

The “10,000 steps a day” routine has been talked about for years. Studies suggest that walking 10,000 steps daily can help with weight loss, reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and improves mental wellbeing. However, for many people with busy schedule, reaching this goal is not possible.

What Is the Japanese Walking Technique?

Recently, the Japanese walking technique has gained attention on social media because of its amazing benefits in less time. Also called interval walking, it emphasizes on the quality and intensity of movement rather than just the number of steps taken.

This technique involves alternating 3 minutes of slow walking with 3 minutes of fast walking for 30 minutes daily.
