Your Firsts of MBBS Career

During the mbbs phase, there are many things which you have done for the first time in life.
Lets refresh those firsts and jot it down as a list. Here are mine firsts

  1. Gave 1st IM injection during 2nd yr
  2. 1st blood withdraw: 2nd yr
  3. Heard a murmur and found it to be pansystolic (and for the first time my diagnosis was correct🥹) during final year
  4. Stood for straight 3hrs continously during postings in 3rd year
  5. Attended OT in scrubs for the first time during 3rd year
  6. Saw vaginal delivery for 1st time during 2nd year
  7. Did my 1st pv examination during internship
  8. Watched echocardiography procedure during final year
  9. Did research on pharmacovigilance during final year
  10. Gave 1st IV inj during internship

These are my firsts and im looking forward to many more during my internship…

My special experience was my first surgical assistant during cholecystectomy and the first time I wore scrubs … It was my 3rd year

Saw first vaginal and c-section delivery during 2 nd year of MBBS

Watched a special ML case victims post-mortem late at night. Our HOD sir made it a very educational experience and ensured all the students’ comfort.

I still remember my first I & D that I did during my internship. And oh, yes, can’t forget my first endotracheal intubation - on adult as well as neonate.
