Work from Home and "Medical Women"

A sense of relief and joy comes when we hear about WFH opportunities, especially for those women who left their jobs due to childcare and other family responsibilities; they feel more content and satisfied than men. It’s a ray of hope for them that they can manage both responsibilities at the same time and place.

Reason

  1. Safety - women-centric crimes, such as rape, acid attacks, chain snatching, molestation, etc.

  2. Comfort zone - women are more at ease in their homes.

  3. Mental peace – the pressure of the office is reduced manifold.

  4. Rat running - an exhaustive, competitive, and busy schedule.

  5. Environmental concern - air pollution, heat waves, rainstorms, etc.

  6. Family-centric – remain with your family.

  7. Improve work-life balance - time management.

  8. Saving - transportation and meal expenses.

  9. Increase productivity - eliminate office interruptions and commute.

  10. Focus - control over surrounding.

A qualitative health standard can only be attained via the affordability, accessibility, and availability of the health workers. WHO estimates there will be an 11 million health professional shortage by 2030, especially in emerging and lower economies.

According to WHO data, women make up 67% of the health and social sectors’ workforce. Disparities between qualifications and employment strategies such as rural, remote, poor infrastructure, facilities, safety concerns create a big space for international migration.

Owing to their stunning presence in the medical field, women are undeniably deserving of a decent, flexible, and favorable work environment. In the healthcare industry, both clinical and non-clinical fields extend WFH opportunities, creating a large platform for healthcare professionals who are more fortunate for this advancement with caregiving responsibilities.

Remote work includes:

Note

On the other hand, it confines women and puts additional pressure on them to manage more household chores simultaneously, much like an alarm or an ‘always-on’ situation.

It also conceals several severe safety issues and further opens a gateway for gender bias.

Is remote work a blessing for women or not?

WFH has definitely created opportunities for many women to continue their careers while managing personal responsibilities. But at the same time, it can also blur boundaries between work and home life. I think remote work becomes a real blessing only when responsibilities, support, and flexibility are balanced properly.

It’s definitely a true blessing for a woman who wants to balance both family and work. And for that, there should be support from her husband and family.

I think WFH opportunities is a blessing in disguise because due to several factors some workforce prefer working at home rather than on site . It also reduces strain of migration to a new city due to job saturation and also provide better work life balance.

Work from home is a blessing for women especially mothers. She can equally pay attention at home and can attain better work life balance. Safety concerns become negligible and health can also be paid attention to. As traveling time gets reduced personal life can be given a priority in everyday life which improves mental health.
