A sense of relief and joy comes when we hear about WFH opportunities, especially for those women who left their jobs due to childcare and other family responsibilities; they feel more content and satisfied than men. It’s a ray of hope for them that they can manage both responsibilities at the same time and place.

A qualitative health standard can only be attained via the affordability, accessibility, and availability of the health workers. WHO estimates there will be an 11 million health professional shortage by 2030, especially in emerging and lower economies.
According to WHO data, women make up 67% of the health and social sectors’ workforce. Disparities between qualifications and employment strategies such as rural, remote, poor infrastructure, facilities, safety concerns create a big space for international migration.
Owing to their stunning presence in the medical field, women are undeniably deserving of a decent, flexible, and favorable work environment. In the healthcare industry, both clinical and non-clinical fields extend WFH opportunities, creating a large platform for healthcare professionals who are more fortunate for this advancement with caregiving responsibilities.
Remote work includes:
Telehealth
Medical coding/billing
Medical, scientific, and content writing
Care management
Virtual mental health care
Medical transcription, etc.
Note
On the other hand, it confines women and puts additional pressure on them to manage more household chores simultaneously, much like an alarm or an ‘always-on’ situation.
It also conceals several severe safety issues and further opens a gateway for gender bias.
Is remote work a blessing for women or not?
