Why is it raining plastic in Indonesia?

In a recent news article, alarming instances of microplastics have been emphasized. These come from everyday items such as chopping boards, plastic bottles, and plastic covers we use to bring food items.

In recent articles, we have seen that even breast milk has been contaminated with microplastics. It’s high time we control the use of plastics, as they can cause serious health problems for humans and other organisms. These particles accumulate in our bodies, triggering harmful biological responses over time.

Just as we once worried about acid rain, we now face plastic rain, rainfall containing microplastics carried through the air. This is a clear sign of how deeply plastic pollution has penetrated our environment.

There should be strict rules to curb plastic usage and reduce pollution. Thus, we could pass on a fresh, clean, and unpolluted environment to future generations.
