What is the right way to dispose expired medicine and other Pharmaceutical products?

We all know that a pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies and Hospital dispose a very huge amount of expired or damaged products that is needed to be dispose carefully.

As wrongly disposed products can cause harmful effects on enviornment,products can be misused ,it can cause fatal risk.

Rules to be followed:

1)We must return the products to the respective pharmacies or companies.

2)the expired products 2ndry packaging material should be removed and the product should be mixed with undesirable entities such as coffee(adviced mostly in household disposing case).

  1. Collect them in separate bins or containers.

4)send them to respective regulatory organizations.

  1. Do not flush it.

“Return → Segregate → Seal → Dispose safely (never flush)”

Why proper disposal matters?

1)Prevents poisoning

2)Stops misuse

  1. Reduces environmental pollution

4)Avoids resistance risk.

Do you people check expiry products or have ever informed the authorities about receiving a expired products at earliest in your pharmacy?

True expired medicines are not safe to consume due to breakdown of chemistry reaction, we should check the manufactured and expiry date before purchasing or consuming.
