What is “6-7”? What is Gen Alpha trying to teach us?
Most of us would be confused or puzzled after speaking to the kids of the new generation, especially Gen Alpha. Their vocabulary is evolving so quickly that some of their words or phrases seem completely meaningless to adults.
Such a word is “6-7”(spoken as six seven, not sixty-seven). It actually doesn’t have a proper meaning; it’s often used as random filler slang, similar to saying “and so on” or simply as a silly expression with no context at all.
Teachers in some countries are really annoyed by such “brain rot” slang or nonsense slang. The whole class would all of a sudden yell “6-7” as a random, nonsensical response. Some schools have even banned such words and imposed strict rules against them.
Languages evolve with each generation, and every generation develops its own unique style of speaking. Sometimes it’s puzzling or even confusing for us.
