Things I wish I knew in first year

You entered college nervous, excited, and completely unaware, and that was all right. If I could go back, I would not hand you a study timetable, but rather teach you perspective.

I wish I were able to know the following:
-Marks matter but more importantly, understanding is what matters. You will forget every single fact that you mugged up for tests, but you will always remember the concepts that you truly understood.

  • Anatomy will scare you at first-however, it is not a monster.
  • Do not ever skip practicals. You start building those skills from Day 1.
  • Interact with fellow students. Exchange notes. Ask questions. Laugh.
  • It is fine to feel lost sometimes. Growth is never linear.

Honestly i feel like i should’ve had someone who told me all this and before before i joined college

Be friends with everyone

So true, when you first enter college you should give yourself some time to figure out everything. These tips would definitely help someone in their first year

Absolutely true.

Make connections. And if you are unable to do so, give yourself much needed time to figure out things. It’s okay to be late than being at wrong side.

Just mugging up doesn’t help in medical college.

The library can be a good friend!

Great piece of Information.
