The Ethical Maze of AI in Drug Discovery

Artificial intelligence (AI) is speeding up drug discovery, but it comes with a complex ethical problem. Since AI learns from data, if that data is biased and doesn’t represent everyone, the new drugs might not work for all people.

Another challenge is accountability. If an AI-designed drug has a problem, who is responsible? Is it the AI, the company that made it, or the scientists?

As we use AI more and more, we must ensure it leads to fair, not biased, healthcare.

Can we ensure AI-driven medicine benefits everyone equally?

Drug development could be greatly sped up by AI, but fairness and responsibility are essential. Diverse data and clear accountability are necessary to ensure that AI-driven medicine actually helps everyone.

AI can change drug discovery, but only if the data reflect the full diversity of patients. Transparent datasets, inclusive clinical trials and strict oversight are key.
