All the way from our childhood to our adolescence, there are 5 traits that emerge through time, experience and environment that shape us into the people we become by the time we reach our college lives. OCEAN
Openness-Conscientiousness-Extraversion-Agreeableness-Neuroticism
Our activity levels, emotional vulnerabilities, and early temperaments help in moulding the traits that characterize our personalities in future.
Through the age group of 3-18,
-every person we surround ourselves with,
-every experience we put our mind and body through
-the warmth we receive,
-the warmth we bestow onto others
-the acceptance or rejection we come across in forms of friendship/academia/talent
Help us develop the need to polish our traits further and be better in life.
This is an important function of our ‘Cognitive behavior’.
On reaching adulthood, when our actions don’t align with these values. we feel a sense of conflict.
Here is where Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) helps you address the disturbance in your pattern of thoughts and get back on track.
How necessary do you think it is to introduce therapy sessions for freshers in colleges and be made available through their academic time, till they develop strong fundamentals of personality to face the world outside??
It is implemented in colleges to build the better personlity to face the world it helps to gain the knowledge helps to face the challenges arrives in life
I think this could be a very beneficial implementation for young people who are still finding themselves. It will greatly ease the typical confusion they experience surrounding their sense of identity, helping them make future decisions that ring true to their character and desires.
Now-a-days it is very important to introduce therapy sessions;as many students are facing stress, mental pressure and they might be not able to think clearly.
I think introducing therapy sessions will be a great addition to help them grow as a well rounded individual and prepare them to face real life situations
These therapy sessions should be introduced in colleges and schools also.
According to a recent research study from unicef.org and Personality-Quizzes.com, Gen Z’s are struggling with various phycological phenomenon, such as : Attachment insecurity, Loneliness epidemic, Emotional absence etc.
they also said in their research that gen z’s are living more digitally than in real life.
Statistics on Gen Z’s Emotional Intimacy Issues
Anxious Attachment: 65% of Gen Z teenagers exhibit anxious attachment patterns, while only 25% show secure attachment.
Avoidant Attachment: 10% of Gen Z teenagers display avoidant attachment patterns, prioritizing personal security over relational investment.
So, therapy sessions are necessary for all of those who are also facing these challenges.
I think it is very useful to implement these therapy sessions where students may get stress due to projects and assignments deadlines this will make them feel free and light and do their tasks without any workload
Teenagers are often at conflict fir everything they do
Be it at home or with friends
CBT for them will improve their confidence about facing outer world
I think introducing therapy sessions to the college students would be very beneficial. For freshers, it would definitely help them to adapt with the new environment and people, would help them with their academics and their communication skills. Also by continuing these sessions throughout the academic time, would improve the behavioural skills and perspective- taking of the students and also help them to face the outside world and challenges.
Yes, I totally agree. From childhood to college, whatever we go through like how people treat us, how we feel in school, friends, family all these slowly shape our personality.
Sometimes we don’t even realise how small experiences change the way we think and we feel about ourselves.
When we reach college, it’s a new world and not everyone is mentally ready for that. If therapy sessions are available from the beginning, it really helps students understand their thoughts, manage stress, and become more confident.
I feel it’s very important to guide students at this age because strong mental health gives us the strength to face the outside world later.
Therapy sessions for freshers are very important. College life brings a lot of stress and confusion. This support can help students to be stronger and more confident enough to face challenges in life
Such an important point!
Introducing therapy early in college can really help students understand their personality, manage stress, and grow emotionally.
CBT isn’t just for problems—it’s a tool to align thoughts, build confidence, and handle real-world challenges better.
Mental health support should be a part of college life, not an afterthought!
This will be really helpful for the freshers to cope up with the academic and family stress. It would also help the youngsters to deal with anxiety or depression and thus reducing chances of suicidal cases.
if they keep a therapy session per day in a week then it will be very helpful for the students. We cannot change all of the students mindset but few people will utilize these sessions for overcoming their inner fears. And everyone get idea how to survive in the society and how to handle the things. Because many students are personally suffering a lot with lot of problems while they have no one to share then this will make them to know their inner strength stronger.
