In today’s world, screens are unavoidable. From online classes and office work to entertainment and social media, most people spend hours looking at digital devices every day. While technology has made life easier, it has also increased eye strain and discomfort.

20-20-20 Rule?

The 20-20-20 rule is a guideline designed to reduce digital eye strain. It is very simple:

  • Every 20 minutes of screen time

  • Look at something 20 feet away

  • For at least 20 seconds

This short break allows the eyes to relax and reset after continuous focusing on a screen.

It’s Importance :-

When we look at screens for long periods, our eyes work harder than usual. This can lead to a condition known as digital eye strain or computer vision syndrome. Common symptoms include:

  • Dry or irritated eyes

  • Headaches

  • Blurred vision

  • Eye fatigue

  • Difficulty focusing

Insightful post! Thank you for sharing this .Will definitely start following the 20–20–20 rule from today! One thing I’ve personally found helpful during long hours of screen time is adjusting screen brightness and using lubricating eye drops .

This is very interesting. This technique is very helpful.

I had recently visited opthalmologist for eye care checkup. This rule was displayed on a board and the receptionist was explaining this to a small boy. This one really helps I have personal experience
