After a snakebite proper medical treatment should be started immediately. This incident happened in Bihar, where some people living in or near tribal areas may strongly believe that tantra mantras rituals can help before seeking medical treatment. Education and awareness are essential to reduce such blind beliefs. Hospitals should also ensure that such rituals are not allowed during emergency medical treatment.

Snakebite treatment should always remain evidence-based. This incident highlights the need to ensure that traditional practices do not interfere with or delay timely medical intervention, especially when antivenom and supportive care can be lifesaving.

I also heard that most of villagers go towards a baba for Tantra -Mantra instead of going towards hospital. This delay puts patients life at risk. There should be an education drive at village regarding snack bite and better availability of quick medical facilities.

Glad the patient survived. I understand this happened as there could be more of tribal population around and sometimes you cannot deny such rituals just to keep everyone satisfied. Still, hospitals should avoid such unscientific practices from emergency wards. Accurate medical care should be a priority.
