Sleepwalking: Not Every Midnight Walk Is a Disease

Is sleepwalking is always disease :- According to me answer is NO

Sleepwalking is a condition where a person gets out of bed and walks during deep sleep without being fully awake. Although it may look alarming, sleepwalking is not always a disease and is often harmless, especially in children.
Occasional sleepwalking can be triggered by stress, sleep deprivation, fever, or an irregular sleep schedule. It becomes a concern only if episodes are frequent, lead to injuries, or are linked to another medical or psychiatric condition.

I want to share an experience that my friend was in another room in hostel during studies. She called me at 2;30-3 something at night and after 5-10 min she came in my room.
Next morning I asked her what happened in night she was not remembering any thing.
I also walked during sleep because i got bad dream of spoilage of my project when i was in school.
It can occur due to bad dream or stress also.

Good sleep hygiene, safety measures, stress management can be a small and good treatment for this.

Conclusion

Sleepwalking is not always a sign of illness—it is often a temporary sleep phenomenon. Knowing when it is harmless and when it needs medical attention is essential for proper care.

Do you think every case of sleepwalking needs treatment? Why or why not?

MBH/PS

Not every sleepwalking needs a treatment, it depends upon its frequency and impact. If its became harmful to the person then it needs treatment

I don’t think every case needs treatment. If it’s occasional and doesn’t put the person at risk, improving sleep habits and managing stress may be enough. But if it becomes frequent or leads to injuries, it’s definitely worth seeking medical advice.
