Sex Education in India: Progress or Pretence?

TBH that can only improve if parents are aware regarding it and vocal

The contribution of Dr. Watsa is immense. but, it has barely made a dent in touching the middle class society and the village population. We talk about sex education while in schools and colleges many male students dont even know about mensuration cycle, good touch/bad touch etc..

We are just following the cycle we have to be aware

It was increased. But their is still a bias. Parents educate their daughter but to the sons it’s still developing.

I believe, even though internet and social media today has helped create a space for discussion and learning about sex education, but the reality is, India still has a long way to go. Myths, shame and misinformation are still widespread. Schools and teachers still avoid sex education due to backlash from conservative parents and communities.

I think there’s is still need for people to open up and think wisely in this matter

Sex education is must , every one should know .

I think we are still stuck but not with silent. I think misinformation from the wrong sources gives wrong perception. And the shame and taboo keeps lighting that perception. This is creating lot of other problems like objectification of women, shaming and disrespect around that subject, and other sexual medical problems as well. So still long way to go for India and more aggressive awareness should be done. Moreover it should started from home. Taboo around it needs to be broken.

I think we are still stuck in a cycle of silence and discomfort. Still in most of the homes discussing openly about periods , sex education like regarding good and bad touch is not yet openly discussed.

We are definitely still behind. It has always been a topic which is never talked or discussed let alone in schools where it should be taught but also in households where there should be a comfort space to share anything related to these issues.

But it’s always a hush hush situation when it comes to sex education which is concerning.
