Since childhood, I always wondered whether scalp care and hair care were really different. As I grew older, I realized that taking care of the hair itself isn’t enough the scalp needs attention too, especially because it can sometimes affect the skin around the face.
I started noticing this personally during my teenage years when I began experiencing frequent acne breakouts. I tried different treatments and consulted dermatologists, hoping to understand what was triggering them. Over time, I started paying more attention to my scalp and how oily it became.
That made me realize that scalp health, hair products, oil and facial skin can sometimes be connected. Oils, sweat, dandruff and certain hair products can come into contact with the forehead and face and may contribute to breakouts in some people.
My experience taught me that skincare isn’t always just about the face. Hair care, scalp care and skincare are all part of the same routine. Sometimes, looking beyond the obvious problem can help us understand what may be contributing to it.
Have you ever noticed a connection between your scalp health and your skin?
