Same Brand, Different Quality: What Are We Indians Really Eating?

That’s so true we see brands and blindly trust them and these company take advantage of that.

That’s so true, it is in our mindset i feel. We trust anyone so easily, do not take any action, do not even pressurise authorities, that’s why no one cares

Very true, the food regulatory authorities do need to step up, even if our economy is imbalanced; that does not mean we should accept the worst quality of product. There should be a standard.

That’s very sad, not doing anything for the standards, and then removing awareness videos

Exactly

Very true

In the future, I think Western countries gonna westernized our natural products like “ghee” and gonna put huge brand labels and sell it at 10x the price to us only with huge brands

Very true, thank you for sharing the quote

Comparing the food standards of India and Australia, food quality in India is declining. It lacks strict hygiene controls . Even quality of food has declined that is leading cause of Diabetes, hypertension and cancers in early in life.

Yes, I have noticed this difference in many products marketed in India. In my opinion we need to develop the habit of checking the ingredient list at the back and not just the front label of the product.

Improved consumer awareness , increasing transparency in labelling of products , establishing stronger regulatory oversight can help address this issue to an extent.

Yes, that is the issue our food regulators have to wake up and take stricter actions

Yes that’s the need of the hour, we need to wake up and raise our voice against these brands ,

Yes that is a matter of concern. Earlier, baby products from a famous brand created a ruckus too. We need better laws and regulations to be followed.

In a population like ours , it’s very easy to make you addicted to anything. We were always influenced by western worlds, and we always feel shame about the things that are too traditional.Global companies has captured the idea that will trap and manipulate our psychology and will make us believe in something even if it’s not good .There should be awareness programmes and government should also contribute towards food safety since it is as important as our defence safety.

Honestly, I have never ever compared Indian products with other country products. Instead of that, I purely use raw/desi products for my regular diet as because of fitness freak habits. I always dream to be in a good shape and for that, it is important to have a nutritious diet on a basic part.

I have encountered some chocolates which are sold in India and abroad but no only the taste but the ingredients mentioned are actually different in both . Less harmful content within the limits less calories and fat.

It’s an serious issues which has to be solved and can only be done by implementing strict regulations by the government.

“It’s not just food—double standards are everywhere here. It’s frustrating to see that the quality we export is often superior to what is sold to our own citizens. Until we have stricter laws and better public awareness regarding adulteration, this gap in quality will likely persist.”

These kind of news are so common these days. Every day on social media, we read such kinds of post. It feels like anything which is advertised aesthetically and considered modern, is not necessarily healthy. In fact, there are very few brands which are concerned with purity. Every Indian should read label to know ingredients of the food item we are buying. And with increasing adulteration and decreasing quality of food items, it should be taught in schools to be aware of the ingredient list so that the children build that foundation of checking before consuming.

That’s so true, our mindset is so rigid, most of us think that if it’s from a Western brand, it will be of better quality, or it’s good for health. But the fact is that India always had better food, clothes, and product quality than them. We have just westernised everything in the hope of getting better we lost our authenticity
