Quality Control or Quality Assurance – Where Should You Start Your Pharma Career?

Hi everyone!
For freshers in the pharmaceutical industry, QC (Quality Control) and QA (Quality Assurance) are among the most common entry points. But many of us don’t really know the difference until we’re inside the company!
• Quality Control (QC):
1.Lab-based work: testing raw materials, finished products.
2.Focus: “Is this product safe and within limits?”.
3.equires good hands-on skills in instruments (HPLC, UV, etc).

• Quality Assurance (QA):
1.More documentation-based: SOPs, audits, compliance.
2.Focus: “Are all processes being followed correctly?”.
3.Involves reviewing BMRs, checking GMP guidelines, regulatory communication.

• Growth Path:
1.QC: Can lead to Analytical R&D
2.QA: Can lead to Regulatory Affairs, Compliance Manager

Which role did you choose as a fresher? Was it the right decision? Let’s share what helped us grow!
