Prokera is an FDA cleared biologic corneal bandage used by doctors to treat damaged eye surfaces.

It is made up of cryopreserved amniotic membrane tissue flexed up in a ring, in which the proteins are released slowly, to reduce inflammation, prevents scarring thereby healing the cornea.

I have seen a case of amniotic membrane graft transplantation in the OT. As ProKera is suture less & can be inserted even in OPD basis, I feel this has more potential of being used.
