After BDS in India, there are many options such as
- MDS – Specialization in dental fields.
- Government Jobs – Dental Officer exams (like UPSC, State PSC).
- Clinical Practice – Open your own clinic or work in private hospitals.
- Teaching – Join as a lecturer in dental colleges.
- Courses Abroad - Pursue DDS or other dental programs overseas.
- Non-clinical Fields– Hospital management, public health, medical writing.
- UPSC/Other Exams – For alternate career paths in civil services or defense.

It’s either clinical or non clinical. We also have the scope to do research which is very well paid in govt sector, but yes getting in is hard
If you are interested in non clinical roles, you can pursue MBA in healthcare management and opt for management roles.
Also you can choose MPH and MSW if you want to continue higher studies in non clinical and look for jobs in many other areas. there are various opportunities in govt and private sectors afterwards.
