75,000 MBBS seats in next five years! Wow, that will be monumental. INDIA needs a lot of doctors, nurses and para medical professionals, no doubt about it.
But the recent medical college scam where CBI has filed FIR against 35 individuals, including some from NMC and others occupying High positions. So this smacks of rampant corruption in medical education. Similarly a few days ago the president of pharmacy council of INDIA PCI, Mr. Montu Patel was arrested by CBI. And they are indications that he is well connected to the current Central government high wigs.
Similarly in India, medical malpractice is a
Routine affair. Lack of protocols, lack of stick regulations, aided by wide speed quackery often means that things are jumbled up.
So this is the kind of fight we are up against.
So, churn out doctors, but not at the cost of quality!

That’s good. Many student have dream to become a good doctor and now they can fulfill that.

It might help bridge the faculty shortage in medical colleges and improve access to quality education.
It would be good to have more doctors to take away from how exhausting and time-consuming the profession is, but the medical field has become too saturated these days.
