NEET PG Counseling... What department to choose and why ???

I might sound very out of context but… READ THE ENTIRE POST …

I would suggest you to choose NON CLINICAL DEPARTMENT
1st of all stopp calling it non clinicals …

PHD - Public health Dentists - If you take admission in a good college… U will learn all the preventive and treatment protocols (scaling, extractions, restoration)

  1. You can work as academicians, Biostatisticion
  2. Any central gov state government jobs have easy access because of the public health domain you have studied so jobs in this sectors… You have a little prevalege.
  3. You can associate with any NGO’s, WHO, UNICEF and government for passing Public health regulations and much more…
    4.Set up your practice

OMR - Oral Medicine and Radiology -

  1. Set up your own practice, Academics
  2. Learn biopsy techniques and performance biopsies in private clinics
  3. Tele consultations for the dentist
  4. Join any diagnostic centers for interpretation of CBCT, OPG, Ultrasound and MRI cases
  5. GOVERNMENT gives many grants for studies focused on pre-malignant and cancer treatment screening and prevention… Work on that side
  6. Gov opportunities for cancer screening.
  7. Join Non clinical jobs

ORAL PATHOLOGY - most underated department…

  1. Academics and own practice
  2. Join Labs for head and neck histopathology reporting
  3. Collaborate and be part of Forensic team and work as forensic odontologist
  4. Establishing your own histopathology lab
  5. Join academics
  6. Join Non - clinical jobs

Many people don’t focus on any of these options because: in UG no proper guidance, they are not exposed with so much skills, and poor reciprocation from the staff … Always ends up in a judgement like… Who does PG in non clinicals…

It’s the most heard and unexplored career path.

I agree that there is a surplus of practitioners in the clinical field.

Well exaplined. But i still feel that you need some interest in these departments so that you can enjoy while you study. You should not regret later.
