Muscle cramps are sudden, painful contractions that commonly occur after over streching or intense physical activity. When a muscle strength is pushed beyond its limit, it momentarily loses its control and causes cramps. Too much strengthing after excercise or less warm up before an intense workout leads to muscle cramps.
Another common reason for muscle cramps are dehydration, electrolyte imbalance. While many are harmless but frequent cramps may indicate any underlying conditions. Not drinking enough fluids before it after exercise may disrupt the balance, which is vital for proper muscle function.
To reduce cramps it is important to stretch properly, stay hydrated and maintain balanced diet.
Have you ever experienced muscle cramps from over streching after having a good quality of sleep?
