IISC Internships

Hello guys, anyone here who got an internship in IISC? if so how did you approach the teachers? Any tips?

Yes! Email professors directly with a strong subject line, brief intro, CV, and a tailored SOP showing interest in their research. Be clear, respectful, and follow up politely if there’s no reply.

I have tried this but nobody replies , how do I follow up ?

I don’t think they reject, but they usually don’t see emails often. It depends on luck. I got a response from a professor in neuroscience, she just told me that there were no openings in her lab

Thank you so much who did you work under for the internship and what did you perform?

you should repeatedly follow up I guess like with 2 week or 3 weeks gaps at least, as their mail is flooded with other mails too

Sometimes they do, but often they don’t. Some professors send a polite rejection or redirect you, but many may not reply at all…just keep trying consistently.

Cover Email: Keep it polite and concise.Mention your name, degree, year, and interest in their research.Attach CV and mention availability.
In resume (CV) include education, projects, skills, tools, and relevant achievements.keep it 1–2 pages and cleanly formatted.
Qualifications are not mandatory, but research experience, courses (like NPTEL)or basic lab skills help.

You can wait for 7-8 days …then send a follow up reply

No, I haven’t done an IISc internship myself just heard about it from friends who did. They shared their experiences, how they applied, and what kind of projects they worked on.

Okay thanks a lot
