Donāt be discouraged by this small shift in your life. Every path is different and every dream and ambition manifests itself in its own time if you believe in yourself and do the work.
Do not occupy your mind and use your energy on comparisons, think for yourself and live for yourself, you are certainly not behind, you are right where you need to be.
I am facing the same thing. My friends who did B.Pharm with me are already working, and they also have 2 years of experience and salary increments. However, I spent two years pursuing my M. Pharm, and now I still have to start from the beginning.
Itās great that your friends are doing well as MRs and earning good salaries. You have choose a slightly different path as a medical content writer and also plan to pursue M.Pharm. I know it may take me a little longer, but I believe this will help me build deeper expertise and open up more specialized opportunities in the future.
This is a very relatable feeling that everyone experiences at some point in their career. The post is a great reminder that itās okay to feel stagnant. The first step to moving forward is to acknowledge that feeling and then seek out new ways to learn and grow.
No, you are not. If you are honest with yourself, you are doing your best and acquiring new skills. You are neither ahead nor left behind; you are just on time. You are not seeing the bigger picture. I was at the same point three years ago. Most of my friends joined the industry, started working as MR, and the rest got admission into M Pharm. I didnāt want to pursue a Masterās just because I did my Bachelorās. I thought, why not take a break? I joined a pro bono internship at MedBound and thought, why not explore something else? I didnāt even know we could make a career out of it. Today, Iām working at the same company. So, was I left behind? No, I was on my time and in my space. Still exploring, still wandering, still confusedāsometimes questioning my choice, sometimes grateful, sometimes annoyed. What I know is that, irrespective of whatever the situation may be, I will keep moving ahead. Maybe Iāll take a break, maybe Iāll rest, but Iāll proceed again. Iāll be where Iām meant to beāmaybe not immediately, but surely one day. And that hope keeps me going.
I can understand how you feel. Itās natural to compare, but remember you have chosen a different path. Your friends may be earning more now, but with M Pharma you will open doors for better roles in research, regulatory, or clinical fields. Salaries may come slower, but the long-term growth and respect are higher. Instead of feeling left behind, think of it as an investment in your future. Everyoneās journey is different, and yours is shaping toward a strong career base.
Feeling stuck in our progress is something everyone goes through at some point. Itās important to pause, reflect, and identify whether itās a lack of clear goals, consistency, or the need for new strategies. Progress is rarely linearāsometimes slow phases prepare us for bigger growth ahead. What matters is persistence and self-compassion along the journey.
