How to say "I need Help:

:stethoscope:Unspoken Truth: How to Say “I Need Help”

In medicine, we’re taught how to save lives—but never how to ask for support when our own feels like it’s falling apart.

So many medical students silently carry burnout, anxiety, depression, or emotional fatigue because they’re afraid of being seen as “weak.” But here’s the truth:
:brain: Mental health struggles are real, valid, and COMMON—even among future doctors.

Saying “I need help” isn’t a sign of failure.
It’s a sign that you’re brave enough to care for yourself the way you would for your patients.

Here’s what reaching out can look like:
Talking to a friend: “Can I share something I’ve been going through?”
Messaging a mentor: “I’m overwhelmed and could really use your guidance.”
Booking a college counselor: “I think I need someone to talk to. Can you help me find support?”

Whether it’s a chat, a break, or professional help—what matters is starting the conversation.

:loudspeaker: Let’s normalize help-seeking in medicine.
Your mind matters just as much as your grades or your stethoscope.

Totally agreed, even we are humans and need help. We should normalize asking questions weather its something we don’t understand or when we just need someone to talk to. Its okay to reach out thats how we all grow!

Agreed… ‘I need help’ is a powerful statement about finding the courage to ask for help.

It’s about moving from struggling alone to openly seeking support, which is vital for our well-being.

Rightly said. It is really very necessary to normalise it.

But getting less reciprocation from the people and having trust issues - these are the potential reasons that most of the people feels afraid to share there things instead of sharing it with someone.

Actually its true , often those who are there for other ppl they do find it difficult to be swaped to the other side but it doesnt mean that you should . Asking for help is pretty simple yea might be difficult in the beginning but eventually if you keep practicing it will get better and lastly please dont feel bad about it, cuz there is nothing to feel bad about its so human nature.

Yes total agreed.
