Healthier or More Health-aware?

While I was reading through papers and gathering information, I realised how much knowledge we gain about discoveries, our health, and everyday life.

Our lifestyles have changed a lot more than we expected. Today, we know we shouldn’t rely on searching online symptoms alone, but still, we can’t resist searching for them. We know the importance of healthy habits, yet being consistent with those habits remains a challenge.

Healthcare is witnessing remarkable advancements, including:

  • personalized medicine and advanced healthcare technologies

  • health tracking technologies,

  • increased health awareness

  • more attention to mental health,

  • and the list goes on.

At the same time, increased digital use and its impact on human connections have also become part of our lives.

The widespread availability of health information, both accurate and misleading content, along with awareness of our lifestyle habits and their impact on our health, continues to influence how we understand health today.

Also, disease isn’t limited to the ones caused by microorganisms; our lifestyles and habits can also contribute to health challenges.

This thinking actually brings up a question: Did we become healthier than our ancestors, or do we just have more information about what is happening?

What do you think? Are we actually healthier today, or are we just more aware of our health?

  • We are healthier today
  • We are just more aware of our health
  • Both are true, but we face new challenges.
