Government Job Vs Private Practice - Which is the smarter choice for Doctors today ?

Government jobs offer stability, sustainability and pension but the growth is limited and need to clear tough exams(like various state dental recruitment exams) whereas Private Practice offer freedom and higher earnings potential but comes with financial risks and higher responsibility especially in the first few years

Which path do you think is more practical for fresh graduates today ?

As you mentioned two paths have their own pros and cons. I would prefer private jobs because I belive in growth than security.

Government jobs offer stability, but it might take time to complete and clear the exams. Whereas, in private, you could start earning after graduating.

For a fresh graduate today, it doesn’t have to be a permanent binary choice. A highly practical route is starting in a government setup or corporate hospital to build strong clinical confidence, sharpen speed, and save capital without the pressure of overhead costs.

Both the jobs are good in their own ways. One should open both options for themselves.

Its depends on the person opting for it. I believe, whichever seems more accessible should be preferred. I prefer private sector in terms of growth and adaptability.

I think it all depends on one’s priority and preferences. One who wants to earn good and who is fine with unstable jobs will choose private sector ,in the same way if one wants stability in their job without much risk can choose government job. It all depends on one’s priorities and situations in their life.

I think its personal preference, he/she must weigh pros and cons and choose accordingly.
