To be honest a lot of people have flat foot and it is not necessarily a problem. Its problematic when acquired in later stages of life as problems like pain and difficulty in walking or standing for long periods of time start. It starts affecting posture and puts strain on feet, ankle and knees.

Avoiding standing on hard surfaces for long time , wearing proper footwear with support and maintaining healthy weight are some things that can be done for prevention of flat foot.
