šŸ“± Dr. Google vs Real Doctors: Is Online Self-Diagnosis a Help or Harm?

I found this topic really interesting-Dr. Google vs Real Doctors: Is Online Self-Diagnosis a Help or Harm? So true, we all do it! That’s why I replied:
Honestly, I’ve done this so many times! Sometimes it helps, but other times it just makes me overthink and worry. I think it’s best to check with a real doctor if things don’t feel right!

According to me we should go to real doctors instead of using Dr. gogle. As real doctors checkup, diagnose and treat where as AI does not have features of diagnose.

While online, patients visit websites, enter chat rooms or interact online with friends and family in the differential diagnosis of possibilities that might prove helpful in finding additional information, helping to facilitate a full and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. On the other hand, not all websites, chat rooms or friends and family’s opinions are created equal. I have found the most dependable information on medical school-related websites such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, U Penn and Stanford University.

We’ve all searched symptoms online but self-diagnosis can inform or mislead.

Know when to Google… and when to go see your doc.

Digital information is a powerful tool, but it should guide conversations with doctors not replace them

Many people Google symptoms first because they fear bad news, high consultation costs, long waits, or past rushed experiences with doctors, it gives them a sense of control before facing a professional. But while online tools can inform, relying on them alone can increase anxiety or delay real care, which is why balanced, responsible use is key.

AI or google provides an instant solution to a problem which could be misleading during serious circumstances. For health related issues it’s always recommended to reach out to trained medical professionals.
