There was a time when I used to forget very small things, since a lot of things were going through my mind. It was like my brain never shuts down. But at that time, I also noticed that, even though I felt like I had a lot of work, none of it was completed; it was all incomplete. It was then that I tried journaling.
I started very basic. Daily, before going to bed, I used to make a To-Do list for the next day. I made sure that I included every tiny detail that came to mind while writing. Though I couldn’t complete half of the tasks I had mentioned in the list, I had a clearer, stress-free mind. That made me understand the value of journaling. It helped me reduce my anxiety and excessive thinking and regulate my emotions.
Whenever you are not able to express yourself orally, don’t feel like sharing your emotions with anybody, too many tasks are running through your head, feeling blank, try journaling. Trust me, it really works. That is the reason it is the first line of treatment in Psychotherapy.
Have you ever tried writing down your thoughts? Do comment on how you felt after Journaling
