When we receive a prescription, most of us check the medicine name and the number of tablets to take. But how often do we pay attention to the instructions written beside it?
"Take before food." “Take after food.” “Take with plenty of water.” “Do not crush or chew.”
Many people think these are just routine instructions. In reality, every instruction is given for a reason.
The way a medicine is taken can influence how well it works. Ignoring these directions may reduce the medicine’s effectiveness, increase the risk of side effects, or even affect the success of the treatment.
For example, some medicines are absorbed better on an empty stomach, while others should be taken with food to reduce stomach irritation. Similarly, certain tablets should not be crushed because doing so can change how the medicine is released in the body.
I have realized that a prescription is much more than a list of medicines. Every instruction written by the doctor or pharmacist has a purpose. Following these instructions is just as important as taking the correct medicine.
Sometimes, the success of a treatment depends not only on what medicine we take, but also on how and when we take it.

Also, as mentioned by @Tama, instruction on the label i.e. shake well before use for suspension. Otherwise it will result in uneven distribution of the dispensed medicaments.

सच बताऊं तो ज्यादातर लोग डॉक्टर का पर्चा कभी नहीं पढ़ते या कहूँ की गांव में ज्यादातर लोग बस पुराने एक्सपीरियंस या सीधे डॉक्टर से दवाई में लिखवा के दवाई ले लेते हैं । लेकिन जब मैने बी फार्मा किया तब लगा कि दवाई की डोज और उसके साइड इफेक्ट्स पढ़ना बहुत जरूरी हैं वरना दवाई हानिकारक हो सकती हैं।

For example we can’t take Pantop DSR after having the meal. As its a medicine for acidity we have to take it empty stomach.
