A few months ago, I noticed many people around me buying blue-light filter glasses, especially those who spend long hours on laptops.
It made me wonder whether they actually protect our eyes or if they’re simply another trend.
From what I found, blue-light glasses may reduce glare and improve visual comfort for some people, but current evidence suggests they don’t consistently prevent digital eye strain. In many cases, discomfort from screens is more closely related to reduced blinking, prolonged focus, and poor ergonomics than blue light itself.
It reminded me that sometimes changing our habits, taking regular breaks and blinking more often may be just as important as buying a new pair of glasses.
Have you ever used blue-light glasses? Did you notice any difference?
