Diabetes in Young Adults – A Growing Concern

Once considered a disease of middle age, Type 2 Diabetes is now rising rapidly among people in their 20’s and 30’s. Unhealthy diets, sedentary lifestyles, stress, and lack of sleep are major contributors.

The scary part? Early-onset diabetes often leads to more severe complications later in life β€” heart disease, kidney failure, vision problems.

Prevention is possible! Regular exercise, balanced diet, and yearly health checkups make a huge difference.

Do you think awareness about diabetes among youth is enough, or are we still taking it too lightly?

Increased screen time can enhance the risk of developing type 2 Diabetes and other metabolic syndrome. So, apart from emphasis on proper sleep, mindful eating, exercise it is also essential to reduce screen time. Proper awareness should be created on growing diabetes in young adults.

I think youth is much more aware about the conditions it’s just they don’t take it seriously or some take it as an obsession which have it’s ill effects too.

This post really makes me think. I feel many young people still take diabetes too lightly, even when they know the risks. Fast food, stress, and screen time are part of daily life now. As a student, I’ve seen how health gets ignored until something serious happens. We need more awareness in colleges and social media. Prevention is not hard it just needs small changes.
