Great question. For beginners entering clinical research, it’s important to first understand core concepts such as clinical trial phases, study designs, informed consent, ethics and GCP guidelines, basic biostatistics, and regulatory requirements.
In terms of skills, familiarity with documentation like case report forms (CRFs), source documents, protocols, and SOPs is essential. Commonly used tools include EDC systems, Microsoft Excel, basic statistical software (such as SPSS or R at a beginner level), and reference managers like EndNote or Zotero.
