In every hospital, there are color codes for different kinds of emergencies. Code Blue is an alert for life threatening emergency like cardiac or respiratory arrest.
Once during my duty in hospital, I had just finished my rounds with the patients in my ward. Suddenly, I heard the head nurse shouting, “Doctor, come fast!” The urgency in her voice made me run immediately.
I found her in the special room. A patient was gasping for air—and then, suddenly, everything stopped. Patient collapsed, no movement, Pulse and blood pressure were not recordable.
Without wasting a second, we started CPR and activated Code Blue.
The Code Blue team arrived quickly and took over. Within moments, they began advanced resuscitation measures—and the patient came back to life.
I stood there, stunned. That moment taught me something unforgettable: in medicine, every second truly matters when it comes to saving a life.
Do you have any such experience in hospital?
