Climate crisis is becoming a health crisis

Global warming isn’t just environment crisis, its a complex threat affecting health and daily life. As the temperature rise, the health risks rise too like -

  • Heat waves : increases chances of cardiovascular deaths, heatstroke and dehydration
  • Air pollution : makes asthma and other lung diseases worse
  • Food and water security : Water borne diseases along with polluted water and malnutrition
  • Vector borne diseases : spreads malaria and dengue
  • Mental health : leads to anxiety and trauma from natural disasters

The climate crisis is a public health crisis too. Change starts now, with every choice to be more sustainable and shift policies to reduce global warming and protect our future :globe_showing_europe_africa:

Whats one sustainable choice you make towards a greener planet ? :herb:

Planting more trees and redevelop forest. This should be the first step to protect our future. second should be usable of natural resources and refilling that resources.

In my opinion, the climate crisis truly is a health crisis too — it affects our bodies, minds, and communities. One sustainable choice I make is to reduce waste and use fewer single-use plastics. Small steps like this help protect the environment and our health together.

One sustainable choice can be reducing the use of plastic and replacing them with reusable bags and bottles.

Climate emergency is also directly leading to a health emergency. Rising temperatures raise heat-related illness, vector-borne disease, and respiratory disease through air pollution and wildfires. Extreme weather disrupts access to food, water, and health care, worsening malnutrition and mental disease. Vulnerable populations are disproportionately harmed, proving that climate action isn’t solely an environmental imperative but an urgent public health priority.

For example, the 2022 Pakistan floods displaced millions forcibly and spread cholera, malaria, and malnutrition among vulnerable rural populations.

True, climate change is very risky worldwide.

Taking care of the environment is one for the ways you can preserve nature and in return nature will help is live better life.

Protecting natural resources, reducing pollution, promoting sustainability, planting trees, conserving water, recycling, and using renewable energy help preserve our planet for future generations and maintain a healthy ecosystem.

Something small steps makes a large impact and we need to apply all the above things to our lives first as change beings from home

Actually, I am working on algae based air filter to reduce carbon dioxide and particulate matter in the atmosphere. I hope it will contribute in battling against climate crisis.
