A new wave in regenerative medicine is the shift from tissue grafts or transplants, to engineering the cells to produce specific therapeutic secretions.
This stimulates tissue healing from within, reducing body rejection risk and opening the doorway for a different approach towards healing, from physical injury to neurodegenerative disease.
Could this start a war between Genetic engineering and Regenerative Medicine disciplines?
Or could this be the very necessary marriage of fields we need to move further?
