Capsule endoscopy!!!

Capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure used to visualize the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, especially the small intestine, which is difficult to assess with traditional endoscopy or colonoscopy. In this procedure, the patient swallows a small, pill-sized capsule that contains a miniature camera, light source, and transmitter. As the capsule travels naturally through the digestive system, it captures thousands of images and wirelessly transmits them to a recorder worn on the patient’s body. These images are later reviewed by a doctor to identify abnormalities such as bleeding, inflammation, tumors, ulcers, or signs of Crohn’s disease. The capsule is eventually excreted in the stool without any discomfort, making this a painless and effective tool for small bowel evaluation.
