Let’s be honest when you start to work you are all excited but there does come this one moment where you do not have the energy or state of mind you can work , what do you do ? I will really appreciate suggestions.
It’s ok to be inconsistent because it’s human nature but if we love our work nothing can stop us
Intern, huh, they are expected to do all the works on time without any question .
No stipend
No value
No respect
When I started my internship, everything felt so new and exciting. But as days passed, I did feel tired or low sometimes.
Still, I knew it’s important to keep learning. I’ve learned so many things during that period, and I truly believe it’s going to help me in my future.
As an intern, I have a lot of free time and only limited work with no specific timing. So, I usually take many breaks, and if I’m feeling good and the work seems interesting, I try to finish it in one go.
Now I’m an intern at one company. If we have work every time, it means we can do it, but my internship has more free time. Sometimes I might have work, but other than that, I use the time to take online courses, this is how I stay consistent.
I will take some time or quick break from work and do some quick exercise or step outside for some time.
You don’t need to be at 100% all the time. Even at 40%, you can still move forward.
It is ok first of all to feel whatever our mind is feeling at the moment without defining ourselves through it, because the nature of mind is to wander. We need to understand that we are not our mind and we can still do our own thing going against the mind, as mind gradually joins in once it gets concentrated on something. But still if the mind is not settling down, it is ok to take things slow. As an intern, generally certain duties are always assigned, so we have to see how to sail through without getting impacted much. We can take those days slowly when our mind is not co-operating with us like talking to family or friends in between, having some favourite food, watching something for distraction at night after work, having some me-time with calmness and having the awareness that what actually impacts us during these times (in keywords format, as that helps in narrowing down the feelings) and what coping strategies we can build etc. Every stage is momentary in life and one day it will transition into something else - this is the thought we should keep at the back of our mind always.
It may not always be easy to stay consistent, but don’t lose sight of the goal. Focus on accomplishing the task and hand and getting the necessary things done first. Do not be too hard on yourself for it, because inconsistency is only human.
There are times when we feel all excited to work and then there are times when we feel exhausted and drained. I think with these internships, mainly the one’s without stipends, majority feels these inconsistencies or exhaustion at times and it is ok to feel the same. It is just that we have to stay focused on our aim and know that these internship phases are the steps towards our goal accomplishment.
take a break, switch tasks, change your environment.
At first, it’s normal to feel really excited as an intern because it’s our first step into the professional world and corporate environment. But once we get used to the routine and become familiar with the work, that initial excitement starts to settle just like with any job. That’s when it becomes important to start exploring more areas in the field and getting involved in deeper aspects of the work. It takes time, but slowly we figure things out and find our pace.
U have to show up if u want to or no
There’s no choice
Take a walk in your surroundings
Talk to the gardener of your society - they too feel the same
Find people who are consistent in their work no matter what
U will feel the energy of doing more of your work
It happens to everyone! Take a short break, drink some water, or move around a bit. Start with an easy task to get going again. If you feel too tired, rest for a while it really helps.
As an intern, I’ve found consistency comes from small routines rather than big, intense ones. I set realistic daily goals, take short breaks to recharge, and remind myself why I started.
Consistency as an intern comes from building small, repeatable habits — showing up on time, staying curious, and delivering on even the smallest tasks with care. It’s less about perfection and more about proving that you can be relied on day after day, which quietly builds trust and opens bigger opportunities.
