I just watched a video of a person who spent his 7 years of his life just preparing for a government exam. He could have chosen another carrier path and excel there, but no he wasted his precious 7 years of his life rereading the same notes, taking the same classes and not experiencing the real world out there. I know it’s the dream of many students to get into government jobs. Give your best and prepare for it once or twice but don’t spend you’re entire 20s for clearing an exam.
Yes, government jobs are a dream for many. But your 20s are too precious to spend stuck in an endless loop.
Give your best once, twice but don’t lose yourself in the process.
Your time, growth, and peace of mind matter more than one exam.
I think government enterances are too competitive to ensure success for the majority, it is truly a waste to spend your 20s hoping to achieve something that is so far out of reach. Might as well go live your life.
Sometimes people get attached to their dreams and aspirations and that’s why this happens, because they are not ready to let go. Moreover, their mind must have a restricted pattern about what they can do, and that’s why they may feel that what they are doing is the only way for success and they may not perform well in any other way. Hence, it’s very important to keep our mind open regarding various options in our career and we should have knowledge related to various fields. There should be atleast 5 different/related fields where we are really good at and something that can help us in building our professional career. This knowledge gives us a sense of liberty and freedom and we don’t stay in fear staying within a certain job/preparing for a specific job, even if that’s not working or there’s no growth in it.
People shouldn’t cling to one dream for too long without reassessing, because while you’re waiting for success, time passes, years go by and when you finally reach that goal and look back, you might realize how much of life you missed along the way. Sometimes, choosing a different path could have led to even greater success or fulfillment.
But still achieving a goal you’ve poured your entire 20s into brings a kind of satisfaction that words can’t fully capture. It’s not just about success, it’s about the journey, the perseverance, and knowing you didn’t give up on what mattered to you.
Nice point snd we need to think this . Retrying the thing which we like is okay but again and again retrying it and wasting the life leads to more stress and we will lose all choices that we had before . It is okay leave the thing we love more we can go for further options and csn do best in it.
I agree. Preparing at most once or twice seems reasonable, but investing 6-7 years hunting for just one goal whilst missing out on living seems to have an important opportunity cost.
Also, family and societal expectations include additional essential factors. People might keep trying because they’re scared of being criticised if they quit.
