It’s true that more research could unlock even more of its potential. Using it to create an anti-pollutant cream is a smart way to combine nature and science for healthier skin!
Yes, it might sound surprising! @Jeevitha
While cow dung was traditionally used to smooth and disinfect floors, recent studies have found it also has natural antimicrobial properties. So, what was once a simple practice actually had some scientific benefits even if people didn’t know it back then!
Totally agreed @priyankakarakoti
These traditions are full of simple, smart wisdom!
Our traditional rituals had so much science behind them.
1.fasting: help to detox our body and support our metabolism.
2. Sitting on the floor while eating: Promote better posture and digestion.
3. Walking barefoot on grass: reduce stress and improve mood
4. Herbal medicine: use plants and their extracts directly to treat many diseases.
5. Used twigs (datun) : for oral excercise and protect their teeth from germs.
There are many such traditional rituals that have scientific benefits and cultural significance.

There are so many scientifically backed ancient traditions in our culture, and also there are many traditions that science is still unable to interpret properly.

Let’s talk about a traditional ritual which has some scientific backing but isn’t as widely known or practiced globally as yoga and Ayurveda - the concept of sitting on the floor and eating in Sukhasana (cross-legged position). This practice is often neglected or overlooked in modern lifestyles where eating at dining tables is considered a social norm.

The scientific benefits of eating in this traditional Indian style are only recently being acknowledged and researched. It’s a powerful example of how ancient Indian practices hold simple yet great wellness secrets that deserve further exploration and wider adoption for their potential health benefits.

It is a tradition which is practiced in Indian households. While this is often viewed as a cultural practice, it has many potential health benefits, such as improved digestion, mindfulness, and relaxation, spinal alignment, and flexibility.
This is also one of the ancient Indian practices that surprises me, as by just sitting in a certain position while eating can improve digestion and has such health benefits.
Do checkout the above link of a journal published by International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences, for more information about the benefits of sitting & eating in sukhasana (cross-legged position).
Absolutely agree! It’s fascinating how our ancestors understood nature so deeply. These rituals weren’t just cultural they were rooted in science and well being .

It is interesting how our common traditional habits have a great impact on our health and life. It is also insightful how these habits are also backed by scientific evidences.
I have heard of a habit of planting a neem tree in one’s home. It is said that neem tree is believed to bring positive energy and good health. Moreover, neem has numerous medicinal benefits and helps with air purification and natural pest control.
I was really surprised to know that lighting ghee lamps can actually purify air. I always saw it as a religious thing, not something with a health benefit.
